How to Choose the Best Office Cleaning Company
How to Choose the Best Office Cleaning Company

We’ve encountered quite a lot of businesses who struggle with finding the right office cleaners for them. We like to think we know a thing or two about how to spot the best ones, and how to single out those you should avoid at all costs, so we’ve put together a useful and concise guide to choosing the best office cleaning company.

For a start, we recommend you don’t employ an individual workplace cleaner. Go for a firm every time (and, further to this, we favour independent workplace cleaning firms over their major, chain counterparts). It may appear cheaper to simply contract a free agent to conduct your office clean work, the problems that can be created by taking this route could end up costing you a lot more in the long-run! For example, they may not be able to provide you with a replacement cleaner in the event that they’re sick or on holiday, meaning you’ll have to go through the strain of finding a replacement for a one-off job or short-term contract, or simply endure an unclean working environment until they return.

You should always seek to employ a workplace cleaner company that has impeccable, verifiable references – and, preferably, references from existing clients. Any half-decent firm of cleaners should be able to supply these to you without hassle. Once you have been supplied with references, investigate them thoroughly to ensure the company you’re thinking of employing can deliver on their promises. However, references from current clients, crucial as they are, aren’t the be all end all, and are not the only reassurance you should seek; longevity counts for just as much. Many cleaning firms open every month – the firms still around after years of dutiful service have stood the test of time for a reason!

We believe a strong and friendly relationship with your office cleaners, and the office cleaning business they work for, is of paramount importance. Good manners cost nothing, after all – and the more you deploy them, the more likely you are to encounter them. It’s a simple fact of life! However, whilst cordiality and friendliness are simply polite, and make sense from a practical perspective (after all, these people will be entering your workplace at regular periods), fostering a good relationship between you and your designated workspace cleaners promotes clear and open communication. You’ll feel comfortable offering them feedback whenever necessary, and they’ll be happy to receive it, and respond accordingly. They may even offer you feedback, office cleaning tips and guidance in response. Responsiveness truly is vital if you are to achieve the officespace cleaning results you seek.

We strongly recommend you find a company who assign you your own workplace cleaner, or office cleaning team. Consistency is a major plus, and your cleaner(s) being a friendly, trusted face around your office will make your employees feel safe and contented, and your cleaner(s) welcome. The lesser office clean businesses can rotate staff at frequent intervals, often without warning, meaning a cleaner you don’t know could be plonked right in your offices without your approval. This in turn can lead to security fears, and legitimate security threats.

You should also ensure that there is a clear, codified contract between you and the office cleaning provider, with plain terms and conditions, and well-defined obligations for both you and the office cleaners. Work together with your chosen company when constructing the contract, and ensure it suits you both!

We hope all, or at least some, of the above assists you in making your office cleaning services provider selection. Good luck!
